This will be followed by a performance called “Memories and Futures” by the students of NSHM.

disruptive is context specific – something which disrupts the normal and is done essentially to highlight certain social, personal , political aspects which is like validation of a problem in the society … somethings which otherwise people wouldn’t talk about or want to see. Badal Sircar, Ritwick Ghatak and Salil Chowdhury are representative of this kind of disruption – the kind which changes the way one sees reality in many ways. This probably had profound impact on lifestyle, relationships, design of spaces, products,
on the politics and indeed the environment.

Does such disruptive performative practices still exist, are they still relevance? The mediums have changed. But increasingly GENz have leveraged performance as a way to disrupt and create fresh perspectives & bring about systemic change.

And how relevant will disruptive performative practices be in the future where we certainly have to deal with AI which is more than technology – it’s seeking greater control, consciousness and autonomy. Speculatively speaking ..
