Spring is on its way and the Chinese New Year is upon us.
This is the year of the metal rat.
Sound of the Metal Rat is a session of experiments in sound & music led by Pradip Chatterjee and joined by an eclectic group of musicians and spoken word performers.
Symbolism is an essential attribute of the Chinese culture. On New Year, we celebrate the promise of abundance – in material and spirit.
The beginning of a cycle where we sow, wishing for all elements to co-operate for an ensuing harvest which fulfills our needs.
We celebrate this moment with music, spoken words and of course specially cooked food from the kitchen of Tak Heng.
This is a space for people to come together to create, express and celebrate life. To widen their horizons through sharing of stories and creative acts.
