Une Soirée pleine d’histoires – An Evening of Stories , is an yearly storytelling event which has been jointly organized by Alliance française du Bengale and Culture Monks since 2016.
This year, the theme is Emergence.
The virtual sessions will be held on September 25 & 26, 2021.
Anxieties hung in the air like an unfinished bridge over an abyss , whose depth we tried to fathom. The body convulsed with undefined sensations, mind reflected on notions and premonitions and we stepped into the unknown.
Each step took us further away from the authentic and we emerged as hybrid beings. Gone were the icebergs, forests, species – in it’s stead were tiny devices which where insignias of our conquests and the tools for future invasions.
What were the collateral damages of this fight with the demons of our epics ?
What emerged ?
As always, humans tells stories.
“In philosophy, systems theory, science, and art, emergence occurs when an entity is observed to have properties its parts do not have on their own, properties or behaviors which emerge only when the parts interact in a wider whole.”
In this edition we explore this “Emergence” .
So this year
We have for you

Sahakārīkathāmālā is like performers and non-performers playing together, jointly (sahakari) stringing story-beads (katha) on a thread (mala), bringing together their experiences, feelings, and emotions of life-including-work, in a community-bound narrative.
