COOLtalks are part of the Masterpeace COOLeaders which is a global program which aims to build ownership and leadership at grass roots level to address the issues of environment – natural, developmental and cultural. We hope to reach out to common people and engage, inform and motivate them to take practical steps to solve key issues and to transform the conditions which lead to the crisis. The program is committed to tackling climate action, toxicity in our lives and enabling equal participation of women and marginalized communities.

The COOLeaders program is using creative modes likes arts, films,sports, etc towards its purposes.

Webinar Overview:

This webinar will explore the intersection of cultural heritage preservation and bird conservation, emphasizing the role of COOLeaders (young people) in safeguarding Uganda’s rich biodiversity and cultural legacy. We will introduce the Doughnut Economic model as a framework for promoting sustainable development and highlight the contributions of Calsaar Cultural Initiative in fostering environmental consciousness and cultural stewardship.

Key Objectives:

To underscore the significance of cultural heritage preservation in Uganda’s environmental conservation efforts

To showcase best practices in bird conservation and community engagement, incorporating cultural heritage elements

To introduce the Doughnut Economic model as a tool for promoting sustainable development, balancing environmental and social needs

To empower COOLeaders to become champions of cultural heritage preservation and environmental stewardship

Calsaar Cultural Initiative, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Uganda’s cultural heritage, will actively contribute to the webinar by:

  2. Sharing examples of successful community-based initiatives that integrate cultural heritage and bird conservation
